Video: Aston Martin releases video of Vanquish in Monterey

It has been a month since the Concours d’ Elegance, but Aston Martin just released a video of its current flagship, the refreshed Vanquish. The reborn model was driven along the scenic roads of California.

Just like other vehicles of the Aston Martin lineup, the Vanquish uses similar design lines although is distinct from the DBS that it replaces. As the One-77 stops rolling out of the production line, the Vanquish will now take the throne as the king of the Aston Martin garage.

The power of the Aston Martin Vanquish will come from a V-12 engine with a displacement of six liters. The numbers are impressive with an output pegged at 565 horses and a torque of 457 lb-ft. The power of the engine is transferred to the rear wheels through a six speed automatic gearbox controlled using a paddle shifter. Sadly, the Vanquish will not get a manual transmission version. We also heard that Aston Martin is not working on a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Vanquish easily zooms from 0 to 100 kilometers an hour in a matter of 4.1 seconds. It can get to its top speed of 295 kph.. It is tagged as “The Ultimate Super Grand Tourer” and perhaps there is really no need for another choice of transmission, after all the crowd that can buy the Vanquish may after all have their dedicated cars for the track.

The Aston Martin Vanquish will officially roll out early next year labeled as a 2014 release. The flagship vehicle has a tag price of $279,995 inclusive of appropriate gas-guzzler tariffs and destination charges.
